Frome Town Walks
The Frome Town Walks are organised by the Frome Society for Local Study and take place on the first Sunday in May, June, August, the two Sundays during the Frome Festival in July, and September. They set off at 2.30 pm outside the Round Tower in Justice Lane and are designed to give an understanding of the development of the history and economy of the town from its foundation in 685 AD by St Aldhelm, through the middle ages to the present day.  There is a special emphasis on Frome’s listed buildings with their broad range of religious and vernacular architecture.
The guides are John Birkett-Smith, Dorothy Anne Bryant, Alastair and Kenneth MacLeay and Janet Millar. Special arrangements for additional town walks should be made with Alastair MacLeay on 01373 836 595 or macleaytrudoxhill@yahoo.co.uk
Frome Town Walks are free but contributions to Frome Museum are most welcome!
